What does an accident really cost?

Have you ever wondered what impact a workplace injury truly has on your business? Or needed some extra support to justify the need for training for your team?

With WorkSafe BC's Safety Calculator you can estimate all of the related costs of an accident, along with the sales and time your business will need to recoup that cost. You can even customize the scenario with all of your own numbers and print a detailed report. A great tool to demonstrate and support the value of training to management.

Here's a short Accident Calculator example:

Accident:
Worker injured after falling 10 feet.
Hard costs:
$2530
With a 5% profit margin and average sales of $2000 per day, it'll take:
$50,600 gross sales to recover the accident cost or 25.3 days

Preventative Training:
Fall Protection
One-day course that combines theory and hands-on training.
